Ingredient of Legalon: Milk Thistle

The active ingredient of Legalon® is milk thistle fruit extract.9 It contains rich content of silymarin, which is calculated as silibinin.9 Milk thistle is a plant originated from Europe and its above ground parts and seeds are used to make medicine .10 In most cases, milk thistle is taken by mouth for liver-related problems.10 One capsule of Legalon® has 173.0-186.7mg of dry extract from the fruits of the milk thistle, which is equivalent to 140mg of silymarin.9

Dosage & administration
Adults and children
For adults and children above 12 years old, take 1 capsule of Legalon® 3 times a day, which is equivalent to 420mg of silymarin.9
Maintenance dose
The maintenance dose of Legalon® is 1 capsule 2 times a day, which is equivalent to 280mg of silymarin.9
Before meals
The whole capsule should be taken with some liquid before meals.9
